Messaging overview
accesso's Messaging services let you create and deliver messages to applications running on user devices so you can engage with guests before, during, and after their visit to your venue.
Messages and notifications
Messages and notifications provide localized content to guests while in and outside of the venue, such as general information, updates, and alerts, as well as greetings and farewells.
The message body can contain images, internal and external links, as well as redeemable coupons for offers or products.
Messages can be sent to any registered user device and are venue specific. Mobile and web push notifications through Apple Push Notification service (APNS) and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) are also supported. These require a one-time certificate to be set up and enabled in the platform.
You can set a message to send on a schedule or according to a location or user behavior trigger:
- broadcast: the message sends at the scheduled time and date. This can be immediate, one-time, or recurring broadcast.
- venue entry/exit: the message sends immediately to users who have entered or exited the venue (detected by crossing the venue geofence perimeter).
- POI entry: the message sends immediately to users who have entered the vicinity of a point of interest (POI) (detected by beacon proximity).
- mobile app sign in: the message sends immediately after the defined app behavior occurs, such as first-time or next log in.
Experiences
In the accesso Guest Experience platform, experiences represent messages and notifications sent to qualifying guests based on contextual eligibility rules. Experiences let you refine your messaging campaigns to target specific user segments. The platform evaluates the defined criteria and delivers the curated experience to the intended audience.
You can widen or narrow the audience through user tags. This segmentation leverages the dynamic user tagging functionality supported by the platform’s Identity services to ensure an experience reaches the appropriate users. You can define multiple inclusionary and/or exclusionary user segments for a single experience.
Test messages
Test messaging APIs let you confirm that a message sends and displays correctly on a user device before you send it to guests. Test messages can be sent to registered user devices using an account ID (typically an email address) to target delivery.
Message state tracking
Tracker APIs let you assign message states, which indicate the various events throughout message lifecycle. This data can be used for reporting purposes.
